The two largest classifications are high rebound sponges and slow rebound sponges.
There are two categories of sponges:
1. High resilience sponge: the polyether polyol used is generally EO terminated, with high polyether activity. The produced sponge has mixed distribution of cell diameter, different skeleton thickness and large opening rate. When pressed, it will produce rebound force with different supporting force under different deformation states.
Therefore, the sofa, cushion and mattress made of high rebound sponge can provide better comfort, that is, a more ideal comfort factor. It is an ideal material for high-grade car seats, sofa seats and office seats.
2. Slow rebound sponge: also known as inert sponge, memory sponge, low rebound sponge, slow rebound cotton and zero pressure sponge. According to different processes, it can be divided into polyether foaming series and MDI molding series.
It was originally a high-tech material designed and developed by NASA for the space program. It is designed for astronauts to help relieve the pressure they bear during takeoff, landing and flight.
Slow rebound sponge involves various industries, including automobile industry, household goods, shoe manufacturing industry, special packaging manufacturing industry and high-grade furniture manufacturing industry, because it has the characteristics of heat preservation, heat insulation, sound absorption, shock absorption, flame retardant, anti-static and good air permeability.
